We Can All Do Our Part to Improve Our Community
Think about the last time you helped another person. Maybe it was something small like allowing a shopper with just a few items to get in front of you (and your full cart) at the grocery store. Or maybe it was something bigger like helping to build a house for a struggling family through a nonprofit or faith organization.
Whatever it was, we’re willing to bet that it made you feel really good inside. We feel the same way when we reach out to help others. Sure, we’re best known for our amazing heating, cooling and indoor air quality services as well as our professional plumber services in South Lyon and beyond. But we also have big hearts and believe very strongly in doing our part to make our community a better place.
Here’s an example that we’re sharing—not to boast, but to show how little acts of kindness can help change the world. As we all tried to grapple at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, Matheson Heating, Air & Plumbing decided to reach out through our Facebook page to people who might need a helping hand. We offered to do anything, including picking up groceries, hauling garbage cans to curbs, removing limbs from driveways after a storm, checking on houses or loved ones when someone was out of town—or whatever was needed.
We didn’t do it for the attention. We did it because we care—and the reaction has been humbling and heartwarming.
“I so appreciate wonderful people like you at this time of great uncertainty,” wrote Jennifer Bunker, who is disabled and was recovering from surgery when we were able to help her. ”It’s people like you that give the rest of us hope, and that we are not alone with the help we are needing. God Bless!”
God bless you, too, Jennifer! We’re so glad we could help.
Another one of our customers said it best:
“This is what makes a community. We’re all gonna be stronger after this. (I) much appreciate the positive Influence.”
We agree, Jeff Rondeau.
Not sure where to begin? Oct. 24 marks the 30th observance of Make a Difference Day, a national day where people across the country are encouraged to devote at least part of their day to helping others through volunteer work. The day has become extremely popular with millions of Americans taking part through a wide range of activities, including cleaning up, fixing, painting or repairing neglected neighborhoods, parks and other facilities or helping out at food banks, homeless shelters, nursing homes and other places where they are needed.
We’re So Proud to be Part of This Community!
Together, we have the power to build a stronger community—an even better place for all of us to live, work and play. We take great pride in being the company our customers can count on when they need to replace water heaters in White Lake and nearby communities. But we take even greater pride in improving our little corner of the world—one good deed at a time. Call Matheson at 248.277.5762 or contact us on the web to schedule an appointment.
