Reliable Heating and Cooling Service in Birmingham

Furnace and ACBirmingham winters get cold, icy, and snowy, which means you need reliable heat that works when you turn it on. With help from Matheson, that’s exactly what you get — functional heat even in the worst weather. While we’re all about offering energy-efficient solutions to help cut your heating costs, our main focus is on reliability to help you avoid heating loss during the coldest months of the year.

Did you know that the average family spends 42% of their gas and electric bill on heating? With our upgrade options, you can cut that number down to size. Some of the most energy-efficient gas furnaces offer nearly 100% efficiency, while geothermal heating solutions can produce heat at near zero energy.

While the cold weather of winter puts heat at the top of the list for home comfort and safety, we also install, maintain, and repair cooling systems. From heat pumps that do both heating and cooling to central cooling solutions, we handle everything. There’s no reason to sweat it out in the summer when you can come home to comfort. Plus, we install indoor air quality systems that help control humidity and reduce the spread of pollution and germs.

WO-TNFR711917 Arrived at the customer’s home regarding a gurgling sound in the guest bathroom when the toilet is flushed. This may indicate an issue with the main drain line or venting system. Referral was given. The second bathroom had a slow-draining sink. Reviewed the available options with the customer, and she elected to attempt to clear the obstruction. Removed the P-trap and pop-up assembly and found a significant amount of hair buildup in the pop-up assembly. Snaked the drain and successfully cleared the obstruction. Ran water for approximately 10 minutes to verify the drain was clear and flowing properly. Everything is functioning as it should at this time. No warranty provided on the drain cleaning.

Arrived to investigate
Found unit from 2000.
Checked blower cap found a 5mfd wired in, I’ve googled the make and model and found it should have a 12.5 mfd capacitor. There is one that tests ok in the spot for the original capacitors mount?
-found filter backwards
-blower wheel dirty
-adjusted some dampers on runs.
-with the step up in power for the blower and no air restriction, the over condensation will cease. I would like to schedule a follow up for a project supervisor to go over options for replacement.
Scheduled next day 2-4 pm

Upon arrival furnace blower unit is operating but no old air blowing

Upon investigation of furnace unit found water all over the floor,
Removed evaporator cover and it was all frozen inside - see picture.

Unable to troubleshoot at this time. Coil must defrost about 24 hrs

Unit with an water problem:
Evaporator Coil - CVAVA4821XMAEAAA
Furnace - 59TP6B100V211120
AC Condenser - 26SPA648W0030001

 Will need to reschedule visit

2 zoned system freezing up->
Verified zone system functionality, system has two thermostats and 4 4 valves.
2of which I didn’t record moving when I’ve activated their thermostats, upon further inspection I’ve found one with wiring that doesn’t match the others, fixed this and 2 more valves sprung to life.
-filter is not very old, but is fairly plugged.
-set blower speed it would appear that the furnace thought that the AC was two stage, it is not, set both speeds at the same speed for staging so it is irrelevant.
-in summary, there was a restriction in air deli
